This Financial Management Practice Manual has been prepared in accordance with Section 46C(h)(i) of the Financial Administration and Audit Act which states that each Statutory Body shall:
"... prepare and issue and amend, alter or vary from time to time as the occasion demands a Financial Management Practice Manual."
In accordance with Section 46M of the above Act, every officer engaged on duties in connection with the financial management of the University must comply with the Financial Management Practice Manual.
The purpose of the manual is to provide staff with a reference source for the University's accounting policies, systems and procedures. It has been prepared in such a way as to:
- provide officers of the University with detailed accounting procedures to assist them with their day to day administrative duties;
- provide background information on the University's accounting policies and systems;
- assist with the training of officers of the University in relation to the complexities of the University's accounting systems.
The manual is available, to any staff member, on the University's home page on the World Wide Web and may be printed off locally as required.
